My brother says: Don't worry about 2052, we will be in paradise by then...
by Joliette ini was talking to my brother about a video that i saw about african genocide, and in the video this doctor that i listened to was saying based on his research he predicts that africans in different regions of africa will be scaled back by about 50% by the year 2052 (due to aids, food storages, etc).
my brother gave me a drive home from work and we were talking about this.
he said that we wont have to worry about that cause 2052 is never going to happen.

good times we had when we were JWs
by smiddy inboth my wife and i were talking about some of the good times we had when we were jw`s ......and we did have good times socialising ,going out for meals ,hotels ,/ wedding functions /,with groups on barbequres /,camping at national parks , and beaches ,/enjoying fellowship at one anothers house on many an occassion ,/video nights / thearter nights with who we thought were good freinds ,our children grew up with their children and vice versa .i was a ms my wife was a people person who liked to entertain at home and many people responded to that.and i would say that apart from the first 5 years of our involvement and discarding the last few years of our leaving their was at least 20 + years of our relationship with our brothers and sisters who we considered our intimate freinds.. once you leave the religion they dont want to know you ,i tried a couple of times with no response.. whatever happened to trying to get you going again ?
(not that we ever would but they dont know that )and no neither of us were disfellowshipped.
i just think it`s a pity that in their veiw freindship is conditional on staying with the organization.

Amelia, that was truly horrible. Witnesses can be so cruel and not even think about it.

Who pioneered with the promise of having 'Jehovah provide' and ended up dirt poor anyway?
by Julia Orwell ini ask this because the wt always bangs on about if you trust in jehovah and make that leap into pioneering, you will always be provided for.
at the time i joined the cult, a friend was continuous aux.
pioneering.

all the pioneers in our hall were married women whose husbands had good jobs. we live in an area where it is still possible to live on one income if that person has a good job. It never seemed to me that any of the pioneers were poor - a couple of them went on regular fancy vacations and they all had very nice homes and cars.

Is this true? Don't Call 911 If The Guy In The Next Seat Falls Ill at The DC?
by Room 215 inthis from a recent thread: .
"recent ridiculous instructions about not calling 9-1-1 yourself at district conventions if someone is having a heart attack but, instead, telling an attendant, who is supposed to let the first aid department know so they can come and assess the person and then call the paramedics.".
i hadn't heard this before.... sadly, it seems in perfectly in character for them.

I believe I actually read that same explanation in a KM - also that the 911 operators actually complained about receiving multiple calls for minor non-critical events. I actually agree that having 50 people call 911 for a non-life threatening emergency is a problem, but for a real emergency like a heart attack or a stroke I think 911 should be called by whoever is there when it happens.

I have an idea
by Crazyguy inhow about those of us that are still going to the district conventions this summer, take a permanent sharpie pen and go in to the bathroom into one of the stalls and write on the stall wall a quick one line message followed by jwfacts.com.
do this once a day in a different bathroom all three days, we may actually get to a few people..

a good idea, but I'd hate to vandalize property. Maybe plaster the stalls with sticky notes instead.

the made contact through my aunt who is still 'in' - as in she has faded but is not disfellowshipped and will pop to a meeting now and again - she does this for my grans' sake.. the contact was from my aunt and uncle (he's an elder) these were the 2 witnesses used against me in my judicial case.
they contacted my aunt and said to forward the message onto us.

I'm glad to see the Boy Scouts moving in the right direction. I had hoped that gay adults would be allowed in too, and it will happen eventually. I don't think there is any "risk" to allowing gay youths or leaders to participate - gay doesn't equal pedophile.
